Photo Contest Rules

Pic of the Month is our monthly photo contest.
It is the place where our readers get to showcase the best of their photographs to see what the world thinks.
The pictures are judged by our Editorial Board and by users who have in the past won or placed in the competition.
Your pictures should be no smaller than 600x800 pixels. there is no set maximum, though very large images will take a long time to upload, so try to keep the file size under 800KB.
We have decided to limit the number of entries to three per month, which should be more than enough.
We only accept JPEGs and you can only upload pictures for which you own the copyright.
You will retain the copyright, and we will not redistribute your images, but you do licence us to use them on site in the context of the contest.
The grand prize in our contest is a big fat zero, though you do get to have the warm fuzzy feeling which comes from knowing that you are the best, and get to show all your friends your beautiful picture on our front page.
If you win a place in the competition, you will be asked to take a seat on the judges panel, from where you will be able to cast your critical eye on future hopeful entrants.
At the moment there is no theme or restrictions as to the type of images you can enter, it can be digitally edited, but our judges are partial to images that still look like photographs, rather than digital creations. If you do have some photoshop work, feel free to enter it, but remember that this is a photo contest, not a digital art contest.
There are plans to set categorised themes and perhaps limits to the amount of editing allowed in certain categories in the future, but for the time being, you can enter any picture you like, all we are interested in seeing, is your very best images, regardless of the subject matter or how you created it.
You need to Register or Log in to enter the photo, but once you have, you can link to the upload section from here:
