Quite a dramatic title, isn't it?
Well, it's true.
Those of you who attempted to log in on Saturday, would have been presented with a blank screen, which, due to a database error, meant that no-one could log in.
That's no-one, including yours truly.
And the fact that I could not log in also meant that I was unable to fix the problem!
Quite a conundrum, I tell you.
Anyway, after hours of struggling and some help from my secret elves at my hosting company, I finally managed to defeat the "White screen of death" (which by the way, is it's real name, just to a google search for it and see for yourself.)
Everything should be back in place now. If you notice anything unusual, please let me know and I'll try to fix it.

Be vigilant
If anything seems to be out of order, such a link not working, or a buddy disappearing, please let me know.
I thought I had caught all the errors, but have discovered some since, so there may still be a few Gremlins hiding in the woodwork.
Thanks for the information
Thanks for the information ed.
I will keep my eyes open and I think I can send a couple of my personal oompa loompas to help you over the weekend if you need any further assistance.

The user's avatar shows up there and takes a good portion of the screen.

Yeah, I went a bit crazy, installing too many modules at once, and one of them was usernode, so that is a leftover node.
For some reason I cant delete it.
I am going to try installing usernode over again and then removing it again.
As for the user image on the tracking pages, I am aware of it and am working on it.
I thought it was usernode,
I thought it was usernode, I don't know why I thought so.
I never saw that avatar in the tracker before.
I have the same problem, I start installing modules all at once and then I have no idea of what happened.

Haste
Normally I am very very careful, always testing modules on a local mirror, always making backups before I do anything major, because I know I am a lot better at taking pictures than coding php, but I have recently moved home and do not have internet installed yet, so am using a mobile connection on my laptop and was just impatient and it all went haywire.
About the image, I used to have the image as a part of the node, but now it is in a block in the right region and I have set Drupal to only display it on user/*, but I don't yet know how to limit it to not display in user/*/track
Thanks to Murphy for that.
Thanks to Murphy for that. The minut you try to speed things up, something goes wrong.

strange
Yeah, never trust an irishman.
Now I have a rather serious problem though, when I create new content, the node titles appear empty, and I don't know why.

Still not solved
Vicki,
I apologize profusely.
You may have noticed that the site was down for all of Saturday, as I was attempting to sort out a few of the problems, but to no avail.
There is one course of action remaining and that is to delete all the user albums, and to install them all again.
I have this a last resort, but I will have to do it now, as nothing else seems to work.
Sorry about the delays. I am very disappointed with everything that has gone wrong. It has been very bad timing as well, because the site has been growing quite rapidly over the last few weeks.
Rest assured though, that your buddylist is safe in the database, it is just not being displayed at the moment. This was all part of my process of updating the user pages (which was the cause of the database error which has started all the other problems.)
For the time being, it is best not to upload any new images, because they will not appear in your album.
I once again apologize to you and all the other users.

Touch wood
Vicki,
Looks like this has been tentatively sorted. (apart from the buddylists)
I'll keep you posted, and in the mean time, you can start posting pictures again.
