Camera Comrade's picture

I just have to share this with someone:

I passing by a film premier in London the other day, and I spotted a photographer holding his hand up behind his flash while taking pictures of the celebrities.

Anyway, I couldn't figure out what he was doing, there was a low ceiling, and he was obviously bouncing his flash off it, but I had no idea what he was doing with his hand, then I realised, it was to bounce some flach back into the stars' eyes!

I tried it at home, and it works a treat. All you do is you hold your hand, palm open, behind the flash while bouncing the flash off the ceiling and you have a perfect catch-light!

Try it, it works a treat.

Thanks for sharing!

That is a great tip camera, I have tested it and it does do the job.

I haven't tried this yet,

I haven't tried this yet, but I just have one question, would it not affect the color balance of the light coming from the flash?
