Digital Photography Forum
Welcome to the Illustrated Photography forum.
Our aim is to provide a place where photographers from across the world get together to indulge in their favorite hobby.
There are certainly bigger forums on the internet, there are also busier ones focusing on photography, but our goal is not to attract the largest number of hits, but rather to foster a small, tightly knit community, where users get to know and trust one another.
Far from being an anonymous space, where users communicate with faceless others, we encourage our users to post as much about themselves as they wish. By this we do not mean home addresses and bank details, but rather specific interests in photography, such as what type of equipment they use, how long they have been taking pictures, and whether they are keen amateurs or distinguished professionals.
But on the question of professional vs. amateur, we are not a snobbish bunch. Our editor, a professional photojournalist who works in the challenging British press, will readily admit that there has been many occasions when he was out gunned by a young amateur with a bit of skill with a lens and a half-decent eye.
In the world of photography, everyone is a student, and everyone can improve on their skills.
We hope to facilitate this learning process by providing a path that we can all take in our journey towards better pictures.
As regular visitors to the site will be aware, Illustrated Photography is in a constant state of flux, with new features becoming available and new articles being written on a daily and weekly basis. There should always be something to come back to, and always something new to see or do when you click on us. So whether you can spare a minute a month, or whether you pop back every day, we love to have you here. The only thing we want from you is a hunger to take better pictures.
But most of all, Illustrated Photography is about you, the user, and we would like you to find your visit as fulfilling, entertaining and instructive as possible. If there is anyway in which we can enhance the experience, please contact the administrator.
We trust that you will become one of our dearest friends.
Happy snapping,
The Illustrated Photography team.
