I've been reading about the Nikon D3, and have been very impressed with the stats, so am considering buying one, but then I heard that there might be a D3x in the offering, so don't want to waste my money if a bigger body is soon to launch.
Has anybody heard anything substancial?

Mmmmm, you are right, rumors have been circulating about a megapixel monster D3x. I have even heard it said that it might debut at the Olympic Games in China later this year.
Those in the know have also said that this is the development cycle for Nikon. They release a press body first, then a studio body second.
Nothing confirmed as far as I know though.

Well, all I know is that the British Journal of Photography thinks that the D3x is a sure thing.

D700
No sign of the D3x so far, but I see Nikon has released a second full-frame body, the D700.
That looks like a tasty piece of kit.
